Turner Prize 2017 Public Engagement Programme // Meet me at The Blue Box
Co-produced as part of Hack & Host (an arts events organisation and collective) for the 2017 Turner Prize Public Engagement programme, ‘Meet me at The Blue Box’ was a project that worked in three parts. A broad range of different groups, demographics and conversation makers were given bespoke tours of the 2017 Turner Prize. Each cohort worked alongside us to develop individualised reviews of the exhibited works, which were then composed and printed into Newspapers to be distributed. The Blue Box referenced what was historically a locally significant news stand and social meeting space. Through this project it was reborn to tour around the city and surrounding areas, distributing the review filled Newspapers and engaging the public in conversations surrounding contemporary art – finally finishing its journey at the Ferens Art Gallery alongside the Turner Prize.
